“The T-Mobile Wing is a good balance between Sidekick’s user friendliness and a Blackberry’s raw power..”

Highs:
Windows Media 6.0; worldwide service; MyFaves

Lows:
Heavy memory management; clunky buttons; poor camera

Introduction

The T-Mobile Sidekick and its almost annual iterations have been a success, but it became exclusively associated with the young and hip around the time Paris Hilton was spotted with one (it may have been diamond-encrusted). Meanwhile, purchasing a Blackberry or Palm-based cell phone seemed to require owning several black business suits.

Wisely, T-Mobile came up with the Wing, a device for those of us too young for the boardroom, but old enough to want a phone without the word “bling” attached to it. Released in May, the T-Mobile Wing was the first phone with Windows Media 6.0 and packs all the Sidekick features into a portable, if somewhat chunky device.

"Not worth it"

I had this phone since Aug 07 and suffered through the slugishness of this horrible phone. last month it finally was replaced because the screen turned white after being locked and was rendered useless. when I did get the first unlock to work, the touch screen was not there!!! I finally got T-Mobile to agree to replace it with a new one, same model, and now the start menu wigs out on me, locks the volume, and triggers the alignment screen when the center button is pushed. AND I HAVE KEPT THE PHONE AT ITS SIMPLEST BORING CONFIGURATION!!! T-mobile...

"The wing is a really good phone"

I had this phone for about 4 months now and love it. The size is great compared to the vcr size of the sidekick. If you need more memory than you can always get a memory card. This phone is like a computer that fits into your pocket. Don't complain about a touch screen calling random paople if you wanted to have a touch screen phone. Use the lock key. Next time do not purchase an expensive phone in haste than complain about the product.
